Elisa McLeod
FINE ARTIST
My oil paintings explore the middle ground between representational and abstract art using naturally fragmented images to create a space, which in some parts is recognisable and yet overall illusionary.
I paint anonymous but familiar places, encouraging the idea that my work is more about a way of seeing than a description of a specific place. The contrast between translucent layers and thick heavy brush marks helps to create hidden subtleties so that the more you look the more you see, an idea that I truly value in my work.
My aim is simply to encourage a personal and emotional response from each individual whilst portraying my passion for painting.
